Shooting Lauren and Jon’s stylish LA engagement session in and around a 13,000 square-foot estate on just over an acre of land, literally steps from the fabled Sunset Strip, would have to rank as the dream shoot. The newly constructed Los Angeles home recently sold for over $28,000,000.00 and we were ecstatic when Lauren and her property developer fiancé Jon (the man behind the vision), called us to schedule a shoot in the home before the new owners took possession. We juggled our calendar a bit, and two days later, we were pulling into Los Angeles ready to go; there was just one catch – we had 2 hours to complete the shoot. We could’ve easily spent 2 days there and not run out of ideas. My initial sentiments, as we walked through the home, were that it was a bit like arriving at Disneyland for the first time with only 2 hours to experience it all. Nonetheless, Jon and Lauren looked amazing the moment we arrived and managed to slip seamlessly from one outfit change to the next as we chased the sun and welcomed the evening’s warm glow. We moved around the expansive property trying to tie in the unique architectural elements but also not dwarf Lauren and Jon by the home’s sheer magnitude. Accompanied by their dog Brady, we began the shoot in the lush backyard/pool area and we then moved through the home and it’s many beautiful in-between spaces. At the very end of the shoot, Jon suggested a final shot outside with the warmth of the home washing over them. He switched on the music and from every nook and cranny of the yard, the sounds of a late-night Paris lounge filled the air as we took our last photos – the absolute best ending to a photo shoot EVER!
