yo·ga/ˈyōgə/
When I walk into a new yoga studio, I have to admit, I get a little bit nervous. All these people in this little (albeit inviting) space, contorting their bodies into positions that awaken your entire being. Dark and quiet, you can hear everyone’s groans, grunts, bodily functions (yes yoga is known to make you fart), you see many awkward moments and wardrobe malfunctions…. come on it has happened to us all… But really, you have no choice to jump into it completely give yourself over to the experience, because it is amazing in so many ways. Some studios are better than others, luckily for me, I picked Yoga Oceanside by pure chance. Off Oceanside Boulevard, in your typical California strip plaza, there is a small yoga studio called Yoga Oceanside. This humble space was designed by a group of Yoga practitioners that thought this ancient practice should be accessible to all. There are still many awkward moments, and I won’t go into mine here… but the teachers are all such an amazing group – they don’t take themselves too seriously, the are not overly zen’d out, they all just love Yoga, love teaching, and want to make everyone feel as comfortable as possible in a relaxing and open environment. For me, Yoga is my release and I try and go as often as possible. I love this studio, I love the teachers, the space everything about it… now I will love the photos on their website too!![]()
